DRUMMING FROM THE HEART
On Monday nights I like to attend a djembe workshop at Myrtle Beach Circle Center. The class is hosted by John Tracy focuses on traditional African rhythms. I have been attending this workshop for about a year now and it has helped me to appreciate the complexities found in these deceivingly simple compound beats. Here is a grand example how all these traditional African instruments meld to make beautiful synchronization. Check out drum master Mamady Keïta in this segment.
